So what can you do differently? Exhibit a healthy level of skepticism. Question everything.

Question the motive.

 

Often when a company is trying to sell a product they will try to persuade you. Typically, a source will use vague or complicated words and enticing images to try to confuse the consumer.

Question whether the author stands to gain.

 

Is the product they are enticing you to buy too good to be true? Would the product improve the lives of many at a very low cost? Often, these products are hoaxes and untrustworthy

​Question whether the idea is realistic.

 

Can it be scientifically proven? Is the experiment or survey conducted randomly to avoid possible biased areas?
